Indications
Active immunization for the prevention of typhoid fever caused by Salmonella Typhi in age of ≥ 6 months and ≤ 45 years
Description
- SKYTyphoid Multi Inj. is a clear colorless liquid containing purified Vi polysaccharide of Salmonella Typhi which is conjugated to carrier protein, Diphtheria Toxoid.
- SKYTyphoid Multi Inj. contains 5mg/dose 2-Phenoxyethanol as preservative.
Dosage and schedule
Inject 0.5mL intramuscularly. SKYTyphoid Multi Inj. should be given intramuscularly in the deltoid region of subjects. For children aged ≥ 6 months to < 2 years, it can be given intramuscularly in anterolateral thigh.
Instruction for administration
- 1. Inspect the vaccine visually for any particulate matter or change in physical appearance prior to administration.
- 2. Do not administer SKYTyphoid Multi Inj. via intravenous injection
- 3. Lateral upper arm is the typical administration site and should be disinfected with ethanol or iodine tincture before the administration. In addition, it is advised to avoid repeating vaccination at the same site.
